BlueCat is proud to be named the 24th Best Workplace in Canada for 2019. Great Place to Work™ has recognized us for the third year with this accolade. We pride ourselves in the efforts we’ve made to foster a welcoming and inspiring workplace for everyone. It’s a testament to the people at BlueCat and the culture we’ve created.

“Our winning culture is our secret sauce. It differentiates us with our customers, it guides who we hire, who we promote and how we lead. We are so thrilled to be recognized for this award and will continue to live by our culture code that every employee at BlueCat had input in creating and maintaining,” says VP, People Cheryl Kerrigan.

Curiosity, Clarity, Collaboration, Transparency, and Ownership are the values that inspire BlueCat’s culture. The Core Values are more than a set of words on our website – they are the basis of everything BlueCat accomplishes in the marketplace. The level of Collaboration and Transparency we strive for is impossible without being an inclusive workplace. Take BlueCat’s senior leadership team. 40% of leadership team members are women. In the technology industry, the average gender division is 70% men and 30% women.

A variety of programs and initiatives at BlueCat support career growth while taking work/life balance into account. The Continuing Education Fund (an annual allotment for each employee) and Leadership Development Program (professional development for current and aspiring leaders) are examples of initiatives we use to invest in employee development.

BlueCat recognizes the importance of a work/life balance too. We host an annual Wellness Week, which offers a holistic approach to physical, mental, social, and financial wellness. All year round, employees have access to subsidized breakfasts and lunches.

More importantly, we value feedback from our people. BlueCat puts great stock in our Employee Engagement Survey results. Our 2018 survey had a 93% participation rate, compared to an industry average of 87%. Our overall engagement rating of 82% was also well above the industry average for similarly sized tech companies.

BlueCat employees are consistent in their feedback: they enjoy being around their co-workers, and the culture BlueCat fosters.
