Product Specialist

The Professional Services team assists clients and partners in achieving their strategic vision through a successful technology solution implementation and well as product education services. We provide technical and engagement management guidance and deep product subject matter expertise, executing on our engagements with the highest degree of quality and client satisfaction.

As a Product Specialist, the individual will be part of a technical team responsible for the implementation of BlueCat's products. The candidate will work with Pre/Post Sales Engineering and the customer's staff to design and implement the proposed solution architecture. The candidate will partner with key network engineering and operations staff and management, to design a solution which meets the function, security, and operational requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical post-sales design and implementation services;
  • Function as a technical resource in the development and implementation of network design, architecture, and operational usage of the solution;
  • Provide regular feedback to customer and company project team on the progress and status of active projects;
  • Develop documentation for each project, capturing the solution design and system settings implemented;
  • Assume technical role on engagements and work without daily supervision, interfacing with customer IT staff.

Job Requirements

  • +3 years experience working with TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP;
  • +3 years of progressive technology services experience;
  • Working knowledge of Linux/UNIX and Microsoft Server operating systems
  • Fundamental scripting knowledge (Perl, shell, Java, VB, etc...);
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to manage project deliverables and timelines, navigate through obstacles, and achieve customer delight;
  • Ability to work in high-pressure client-environments with aggressive deadlines;
  • Quick learner who is able to implement new technologies or processes in demanding, changing environments;
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and time-management skills;
  • Self motivated individual who works without daily supervision and pursues goals with tenacity and creativity;
  • Maintain professional demeanor and appearance at all times;
  • Ability to travel 75% of the time;
  • Evening and Weekend work required on occasion.

Desirable Skills:

  • Strong networking background;
  • Develop documentation for each project, capturing the solution design and system
  • Experience with ISC BIND and/or other DNS/DHCP servers;
  • Post secondary or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
